Fishstick Surfboards is a project created by Bob Ree, a surfer and designer based in Toronto. Growing up in B.C., Bob was a typical youth who got really in to board sports: skate, snow, wind, and of course, surf (the ultimate). After residing in relative bliss in Oregon for a few years, Bob's girlfriend convinced him to move to Ontario in 2000, where he was simultaneously shocked and delighted to find surfing on the Great Lakes... whoa... who knew? Like those who pioneered lakesurfing years before, he was incredibly stoked when he started riding freshwater waves. But he also discovered that quality surfboards were hard to find locally, and the boards that were available were not the best shapes for lake conditions. In response, Bob started making his own boards, an obsession which has evolved in to Fishstick Surfboards... and the evolution continues.
